Scope of Work
AluFactory delivered the complete façade package for the new Presentation College in Kilkenny, a large-scale educational development designed to meet demanding performance, safety, and architectural standards. The project required integration of advanced curtain walling, bespoke doors, and high-spec glazing systems with precast concrete and rainscreen cladding.
• Curtain Walls incorporating spandrel panels, ventilation, and rainscreen connections
• Doors: High-performance aluminium doors with panic exit devices, closers, cylinders, and electric strikes
• Spandrel & Feature Panels: Opaque RAL 7016 units and coloured panels providing architectural definition
• Ironmongery: Fully coordinated packages ensuring compliance with EN1125 emergency exit standards and Part M accessibility

• Reynaers CW50 – Slimline curtain wall system with high insulation, supporting large glazed spans and integrated spandrel solutions
• Reynaers CS77 – Robust, thermally insulated door system for high-traffic and emergency exit doors, tested to EN standards
• Reynaers ML8 – Complementary framing system ensuring seamless integration between doors and curtain walls
Glazing Details
• GL1: 6 mm ESG HST SunGuard 70/35 / 18 mm Swisspacer Ultimate cavity / 44.2 laminated ESG — U-value 1.0 W/m²K
• GL2: 8 mm ESG HST SunGuard 70/35 / 14 mm Swisspacer cavity / 66.2 laminated ESG — U-value 1.1 W/m²K
• GL3: Multi-layer with Low-E coatings and laminated safety glass — sound insulation up to Rw 42 dB
• GL4: Float glass triple-pane with Low-E inner pane — U-value 0.5–0.6 W/m²K
• GL5: Float glass SunGuard 70/35 / 20 mm cavity / Low-E pane — U-value 1.1 W/m²K
• GLO & GLS: Frosted and opaque spandrel units, RAL finished, providing privacy and aesthetic balance
Key Features
• Energy & Acoustic Performance: U-values between 1.0 – 1.6 W/m²K, acoustic performance up to Rw 42 dB, and solar control to EN410 standards
• Compliance: Door systems engineered for Part M accessibility and EN1125 emergency exit compliance.
• Detailed Integration: Airtight membranes, radon-proof barriers, rainscreen connections, and precast anchoring details across all façade junctions
• Architectural Identity: Uniform RAL 7016 finish, enhanced with spandrel and coloured feature panels for a modern, cohesive façade
